the WFLF umbrella, including all the babies that were born in California, together with many of the incoming foals, have been successfully relocated from our transitional wild horse recovery center and into WFLF’s sanctuary. These former victims of displacement are loving life as permanent members of WFLF's Wild Horse Heritage Herd!
“WOPILA!! For 'WILD FOR LIFE FOUNDATION!' A 'LoveHeart' for Horses organization that has brought ALL Nations together to preserve a sacred relative and their sacred way of life,” said Spiritual Leader, Daniel Cualtli Yahtl Ramos of the Dine, Apache and Yamassee tribes. “Pilamaya WFLF for Loving and caring for our ancestors children. AHO!”
The Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF) founded this 'WFLF MUSTANG RESCUE MISSION' as crisis intervention to save the lives of over one hundred and some off wild horses who had become stranded and in imminent risk of slaughter. Through WFLF's Wild Horse Rescue and Recovery Program, we saved their lives, provided them with the protection they needed to keep them safe from slaughter and we have preserved their historic living legacy.
BACKGROUND:
This WFLF MUSTANG RESCUE MISSION was founded by the Wild for Life Foundation (WFLF) early in 2014 as a grassroots rescue and recovery mission to rescue and save the lives of approx one hundred and some odd wild horses after the group lost their pasture lease and nearly lost the lives of all their horses to slaughter. Sadly, their entire herd of Mustangs had found themselves displaced and imperiled in feedlots. The group had transferred title of their horses in hopes of placing them into new forever homes. But, without the resources to house, feed and care for them, the group was on the verge of losing all their horses forever.
WFLF and its dedicated team of volunteers indeed placed their lives on hold over the last eighteen months working around the clock to save these Mustangs and assure they received the care and provisions they needed. This WFLF wild horse rescue and recovery mission successfully served as crisis intervention by providing lifesaving emergency services and provisions including quality hay, veterinary medical care, transportation and housing for these imperiled and slaughter-bound Mustangs. This mission also successfully facilitated the relocation and permanent placement of approximately one hundred and fifty wild horses in small groups and in family bands, into new forever homes, natural habitat environments and rehabilitation programs.
Approximately thirty three of these formerly victimized horses have now been transferred for placement in sanctuary in Northern California where they can freely graze. Although WFLF has now ended its support for the other group, and this mission is concluded, our work continues in the ongoing care and provision of feed and housing for the remaining refugees and all the other rescued wild horses that have become herd members under WFLF’s program.
WFLF relies 100% on tax deductible donations to pay for these costs and our work is made possible by continued financial support from private individuals like you. Please, consider making a meaningful donation today!
As always we thank you for your support for this important cause.
For the horses~
Sincerely,
Katia Louise
