The powerful film contrasts shots of noble, beautiful, galloping animals with well-researched, shocking statistics and brings to screen a searing indictment of special interests and governmental agencies involved in the predatory exploits of America's horses. Viewers will be able to watch the film through Vimeo On-Demand in HD or SD on their TVs, phones, computers and tablets.
Audiences worldwide can now watch the SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES’ featurette online and share the film with their friends! SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES is a powerful podium with a dynamic reach to humanitarians and animal lovers worldwide. This intelligent exposé also reveals how the public has been misled by several government agencies and corporate interests that run over the laws that are supposed to protect the horses, people and the environment. "Saving America’s Horses helps spotlight what is becoming an urgent global humanitarian crisis – the pollution of fresh water. The RBC Blue Water Project is our commitment to protecting the lifeblood of this planet that we all need to share." — Jeff Boyd, Regional President, Ontario North and East, RBC Royal Bank
"It is the time we live in now; the
moment of truth... it is time to come together and acknowledge what we are doing to ourselves" - Daniel Ramos, tribal spiritual leader. Film North's theme; One Word, One World; Environment became the perfect conduit for “Saving America’s Horses” environmental message. Winner of Best Environmental Film in Canada, this intelligent and powerful film explores the destruction of life on our planet by looking at the pollution of fresh water, the degradation of open range lands and how we treat the animals that we share our world with; such as the horse.
“Unpacks a multi-layered conspiracy — fueled
by a parade of misinformation— against the survival and proliferation of
horses.”
— Gary Goldstein LA TIMES
The SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES featurette brings to screen brand new scenes and footage, plus updated statistics from the all new digitally re-mastered full length documentary film, SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES: A NATION BETRAYED now slated for release through educational venues including universities, schools and libraries and onto television/ cable and DVD. The original SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES documentary won numerous awards on the international festival circuit and was then successfully released to theaters in LA and NYC in December of 2012. The feature length film also qualified for Oscar consideration which brought the issues impacting America's horses into the mainstream.
Bringing together a wide spectrum of hard-hitting, sometimes opposing viewpoints the film lays down evidence for the Full Monty of objectionable behavior, including neglect, cruelty, deception, and profiteering. The victims run the gamut, from those who eat the meat filled with carcinogenic and other harmful drugs, to the horses themselves, wild horses poached from government land, Thoroughbred race horses who pass through the system to oblivion, domestic horses who outlive their welcome and are sent to slaughter. SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES is a compelling, provocative and a rallying cry for justice and integrity.
“An intelligent, powerful film, “SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES” is like a scorched earth weapon aimed at incinerating the lies and ending horse slaughter with laser sharp truth--Agent Orange to the lying, ignorant malevolence and greed that continue to exact a terribly cruel toll on horses and people. Please support this film,” says Paula Bacon, former mayor, Kaufman, TX. "Saving America's Horses is Fantastic! Powerful and compelling” — Greg MacGillivary, MacGillivary Freeman Films (IMAX)
