Wild For Life Foundation welcomes ‘Random’, a glorious wild paint to its Sanctuary

GREAT NEWS!

July 27, 2015 – Wild For Life Foundation, Studio City, CA: We are pleased to welcome our newest
addition to our wild horse sanctuary. ‘Random’ a wild horse paint of significant size had been feral and living on the Edwards Air Force base, and then sadly he was sent to auction.

“Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF) is delighted to collaborate with Farralone Farms, the rescue that saved Random from auction,” said Katia Louise, president WFLF. “We are honored to accept him into our program and look forward to providing him with the ongoing special care and space he needs.”

“Random was not even halter broke and we had our work cut out,” said Saskia Chiesa of Farralone Farms. “Recently he spent 2 weeks with Monty Roberts during a clinic for Gentling Wild Horses.” It had been determined by Monty that Random had previously been severely abused and used for horse tripping.

At Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF) rescue is just the beginning of a long dedicated journey to assuring peaceful and healthy lives for victimized horses. Through Wild for Life Foundation's Emergency Equine Rescue and Recovery Mission we save and evacuate equines from life threatening situations and disaster. We partner with animal control services to facilitate and provide for the rescue and placement of equines seized in animal cruelty cases. Through WFLF's Safe Haven Emergency Rescue and Recovery, we serve the community needs of at risk equines both locally and on a national level. As part of WFLF's Safe Haven Emergency Rescue and Recovery program, WFLF's Wild Horse Safe Haven Protection Program (WHSHPP) was founded to provide safe and healing environments for incoming imperiled wild horses that need special time to recover and heal from emotional trauma and physical injuries sustained during capture and removal from the wild and or their traumatic experience in the slaughter pipeline.

The Wild For Life Foundation offers positive alternatives which protect and preserve America’s Wild Horses. Having developed innovative methods for sanctuary management that include community enrichment and sustainable ecological approaches, Wild For Life Foundation’s present need is for general operating support for its Mustang Sanctuary Program. Support for Wild For Life Foundation's Mustang Sanctuary & Indigenous Heritage Project can be made in a variety of ways. One can become a donor or sponsor, sponsor a wild herd, purchase or donate acreage towards the expanding the Wild For Life Foundation Land Trust’, volunteer at the Sanctuary, participate in some of the educational programs, or "take action" through social media by raising awareness.

RESCUE MISSION UNDERWAY - Nov. 21, 2013 (NHRRM)

Navajo Horses Rescue and Recovery Mission (NHRRM) rescue team members are working to save 8
Navajo wild horses right now. These 8 at risk/ slaughter bound Navajo wild horses were captured  “as strays” during the recent roundups, just outside the reservation. Despite their obvious healthy appearance, they were claimed to be “starving due to a lack of forage on the reservation”. Funds are urgently needed to transport these horses to safety. Please share to help.

The Navajo Horse Rescue and Recovery Mission (NHRRM) is an ongoing effort to rescue and re-home wild horses, burros and orphan foals that are at risk of slaughter or that have been victimized by the Navajo roundups. The Wild for Life Foundation assures their forever safe harbor so that they will never be subject to roundup or slaughter again.

More than 2,000 horses and burros have been recently swept away from their Native homes as a result of US government funded roundups that the vast majority of Navajo people oppose. Navajo President Shelly promised to suspend the roundups and oppose slaughter through a MOU which reportedly will become effective once signed. But in the meantime, Navajo's wild horses remain at risk and many are going to slaughter.

Navajo Horse Rescue and Recovery Mission

Orphaned Navajo foals need your help! They are just 3-5 months old and were taken from their mothers who were shipped to slaughter. Wild horses and burros are being taken from their Native homes in the highly contested Navajo roundups which the vast majority of Navajo people oppose.
Volunteer rescuers members from the WFLF's Navajo Horse Rescue and Recovery Mission have put their lives on hold to rescue, recover and evacuate survivors, and insure they will never be subject to roundup or slaughter again.
You can help save these innocent and sacred wild Navajo horses and burros by giving to this mission. Funds received will help pay for immediate transport, hay, veterinary medical care and housing.

Rescue in Progress - Please help

WFLF's Lifetime Equine Refuge is rescuing three companion horses who were on the verge of going to slaughter, and we are working to bring them immediately into our Safe Haven Network.

We got the emergency call requesting urgent aid for these three young horses just the other day. Our emergency rescue team immediately delivered temporary hay and feed provisions for the horses and upon assessment found they range from 5 - 12 years old, are all without shelter and severely emaciated.

The mother of the owner reports that her son was in an accident and has since been unable to provide them the care they need. The owner has since agreed to surrender them, but time is of the essence.

Together we can make this story of broken bodies and shattered lives whole again.

Experienced equine care providers interested in helping to foster or adopt a horse in need are also invited to join WFLF's Safe Haven Network. With your help, horses like these can receive that second chance at life.

If you have room for a horse in need, or know someone else that does, please contact WFLF's Lifetime Equine Refuge directly. info@lifetimeequinerefuge.org

WFLF's Lifetime Equine Refuge provides medical care, food, shelter and a 2nd chance at life for wild and domestic equines in need. Wild for Life Foundation is a 501c3 all volunteer nonprofit charity dedicated to saving, protecting and preserving wild and domestic equines through rescue, sanctuary and education. Donations to WFLF are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law.

Partnering rescue organizations are encouraged to network and collaborate for provision of the most expedient rescue possible.
Thank you for all that you do for the horses.

Sincerely,
Katia Louise, President
